Club Championship Policy

RULES OF ELIGIBILITY and CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

ELIGIBILITY:
This tournament is open to RPGC Members who are (a) members in good standing, (b) who have an established low index, and (c) who have competed in at least 3 RPGC sanctioned tournaments within 12 months prior to this tournament. 
Participation in the same event the year prior, does not count as an eligible round.

FORMAT: 
Stroke-play over three (3) consecutive days starting on Friday, August 9 
and concluding on Sunday, August 11. In this year's Club Championship, there will be a CUT of 25% – 30% of the field from each flight after Saturday’s round. Players who make the cut will play on Sunday, August 11. The "cut line" for each flight will be made by the Tournament Committee, and is based upon the number of players who entered the tournament.

Cuts will be made by determining a ranking as follows: 1st gross, 1st net, 2nd gross, 2nd net, etc... until we have the alloted number of players for the cut. All decisions made by the Tournament Committee shall be final. 

TIE BREAKER: 
Ties be broken by carding off the Day Three scorecard in accordance with our Club PoliciesBack nine, back six, back three, 18, 17, 16, etc...


HANDICAPS:
Because this a Major Tournament, all competitors will be required to use their Low Index or Club Index - whichever is lower. This index will be frozen from moving up during the tournament, but the Handicap Committee can always adjust down if deemed necessary.

Additionally, if a player's index is revised downward (by virtue of a GHIN revision or Club Index), the player must use this new, updated lower index.  

REGISTRATION:
Members are required to pay a one-time registration fee of
$165 for the tournament. This fee will cover the first two stipulated rounds of golf, shirts/hats, drinks, food,raffle, and the prize fund. If a player qualifies for round three, the club will pay their entry fee for that round.

FLIGHT BREAKS:
Flights will be divided evenly based on Low Index or Club Index, whichever is lower.  

TEES:
Championship Flight will play from the black tees, all other flights play from the blue tees.

PAIRINGS: Members will not have a selection for tee times as is typical for other RPGC sponsored golf tournaments. The Major Tournament Chairman has full discretion with pairing members that are competing against each other within each flight. The tee time intervals will be assigned by flight sequence. The order by flights from early tee times to last for the three (3) day tournament will be scheduled as follows:

GOLFER OF THE YEAR POINTS:
30 for 1st net, 27 for 2nd net, 24 for 3rd net...etc, per flight (in additional to participation points).

SCRIP PRIZE PAYOUTS ($6,000 TOTAL PRIZE PURSE):
1st Place Gross/Net (6): $350 
2nd Place Gross/Net (6): $250
3rd Place Gross/Net (6): $150
